OUR STORY
Williams Beer & Gin house is the latest venture for independent bar group Concept Taverns.
The newest addition to our fast-growing estate of modern Yorkshire pubs was previously rented and operated by ourselves as ‘Voda Bar’. Having purchased the long leasehold for £325,000 in late 2017, we plan to have invested a further £150,000 to transform the building into Williams Beer & Gin house, a product focused venue that lends itself to a rustic yet contemporary style.
“We always liked the building, there is a lot of potential and we're going to call it ‘Williams’ after John William Street on which it sits.” – Ben Warren, Managing Director.
We are delighted to have returned to the venue and to be back in Huddersfield town centre, especially at a time of such huge cultural regeneration. Besides bringing our tally of venues to eight, Williams Beer & Gin House will employ 5-10 members of staff locally.
Opening Friday 28th May, drinkers can look forward to 16 cask and draft beer lines, featuring local suppliers wherever we can, with some of the bar’s cask supplied by Concept Brewing, our very own brewhouse in Horsforth. Alongside the beer, expect a diverse selection of over 80 gins, ranging from the big name favourites to small batch and boutique numbers, and an inspired cocktail menu.
Other highlights will include a 6ft British pool table, all the live coverage from Sky and BT Sport, and a street food kitchen serving up Concept Taverns’ signature hand-stretched pizzas.
It’s an exciting time for Concept Taverns! We opened the doors to Market Square Tavern in Bingley last month, a huge restoration project that began well over a year ago, and we recently welcomed a newly appointed Operations Manager to oversee the smooth running of the businesses.
We can’t wait to get behind the bar in a few weeks’ time and we very much look forward to becoming part of the Huddersfield scene.
